Good news. Tumour shrinking!

Good news! Initial results from yesterday's ct scan show that my tumour has started shrinking and my CA 125 is now going down. Four weeks on my parp inhibitor trial drug. Yay - doing a very happy dance today :-) xx

Absolutely great news. Can you be on the PARPs inhibitor for as long as you need it?

in reply to sarah1963

Thanks Sarah. I have been told I can stay on it for as long as it is still working for me.

Great!

I am on a trial drug too which is working and will continue to take it until it stops working.

I hope you can live as normal a life as possible while taking it.

Hi Charon,

Excellent news. PARP inhibitors are really exciting. If they can map some more genes involved in OC, hopefully they can extend the range and the net will close tighter around some of the strains of this disease.

I am so glad you are benefiting from something that is so new and cutting edge.

Thank you Lizzie. Yes let's hope they can. Any news on when you can start your new treatment?

Hi Sharon,

Thanks for asking...

Still trying to arrange it. My oncologist rang me at 8.30pm on Friday! He said he will contact me early this week. He did not seem very excited. He said the Rotterdam Regimen only ever went to a phase 2 trial and sometimes such results can be misleading. However, I am clear that I am willing to give it a go so will push for it.

So glad to hear your good results. Very encouraging.

Looking back, I realized I missed a reply from you in Jan. asking where I had hoped to do a PARP trial. It was in Birmingham. It was a busy time for us and then we went to visit our son in Denver.

Looking forward to hearing further good progress from you.
