Just wondering if anyone has had success with carboplatin fourth time around?
It has worked well for me for three lines now, over six years, in various combinations, but I'm losing my nerve a little that carbo and I can do this again. First round tomorrow, carboplatin as single agent initially - possibly adding gemcitane if it seems to need an extra boost.

Hi. I don’t have that much experience but I’ve met people who’ve successfully had four rounds. I’m just wishing you success with this one. Sending hugs. Xx
I’m having carboplatin on its own for my fourth line treatment. I’ve had 3 treatments so far. After my first session my CA125 came down from 2200 to 1200 so I’m hopeful it’s working for me. For some reason, CA125 wasn’t recorded at the blood test before my last treatment so I don’t know if I managed another dramatic drop. Next blood test and treatment next week, so keeping my fingers crossed…
How are things going for you now? Still good I hope.
I've had two cycles of carbo now and am feeling quite good, so quietly hopeful. I had a partial bowel blockage in between first and second cycle which I'm told might cause my CA125 number to rocket, so we're ignoring that marker for now.
Next dose just after New Year. Fingers crossed for both of us x
Hi. I’m doing ok thanks. Had 4 treatments now - no. 5 next Friday. My CA125 was down to 248 last time! It’s funny that I’m so pleased about that number, when in previous years I’d been upset when it went over 25. And it’s so much easier with a port. Had CT scan a couple of days ago, but don’t expect to get the results this side of Christmas. Hope your treatment continues well, and you have a lovely Christmas. X
Great to hear. I feel we are trailblazers - my oncologist has very much a 'we'll see what happens' approach to this line of chemo - there's so little data to guide her on what to expect from the fourth line hangers-on!
Happy Christmas to you too, hope carbo no. 5 is kind to you.
I was on Niraparib after third line but it only gave me 7 months break, which has been the shortest remission time I've had. I stayed on watch and wait after I stopped taking it, and felt much better off it than on. So I'm not looking to try another one.
