HIPEC surgery and Avastin for one year any similar case?

Hi, so I had a big recurrence in the peritoneum on 2021, first diagnosed in 2019, stage 1A fallopian tube cancer, did all the debulking surgey and chemo. As it came back in 8 spots in the peritoneum no surgery was possible did 6 rounds of carboplatin, gemzar and avastin, most of the cancer went away, there are 3 not measurable spots that may be or not cancer, very low metabolic activity.

Doctors are suggesting if possible a surgery called Hipec, wich involves hot chemo directly in the peritoneum, or avastin for a year

My marker CA125 went down fron 744 to 22 after this las chemo.

Overall i feel very good, had normal life during the treatment, but not so happy continuing more treatment, although i now is the best for me.

Any advice, ? Thanks and hugs!

Hi. It sounds like you’re doing well and possibly this treatment could be overkill. What about a PARP inhibitor? Possibly wait three months and have another scan while monitoring ca 125? On the one hand your team is treating you aggressively which is good but having hipec if you don’t really need it is intense. If you were sure the cancer was growing then it would be a great option.

Personally I would opt for the HIPEC. As I understand it, the chemo fluid would be hitting any cancer cells direct that may be lurking in the abdomen. To be offered this is quite rare as the procedure is not carried out in too many hospitals. Where are you based please? Good luck with whatever you choose.

if they are offering I would take it . This is an insidious cancer anything to get a hold on it is better than saying darn wish I had done this when I had the chance but everyone is different and you need to make that decision on your own good luck and hoping for great things!

I agree with others...if it were me I would definitely take the Hipec. I would use any means available to fight this cancer.

You've done really well and hope all continues to go well for you .x
