I first want to say a huge thank you to everyone who posted on my last post. I appreciate you ladies taking time out of your day to offer well wishes and positive thoughts.
I am scheduled with gyn oncology this Friday the 16th for a laparoscopic removal of my left ovary (5 cm hypodense cyst; CA125 over 800) and both my fallopian tubes. During surgery - they will do a biopsy of mass and if it comes back suspicious (borderline or cancerous) surgery will transition to debulking. While my oncologist is feeling optimistic that it can be complete laparoscopically with a discharge from hospital the same day - I'm trying to be prepared!
Any must haves to bring following debulking surgery and a hospital stay?
Thanks,
Kris xx

Wear nighties in hospital. I made the mistake of wearing pjs.
I didn't bother paying for the tv in hospital. I took books to read. If you are on a ward rather than an individual room, I found time passed quickly chatting with other patients.
l agree with Beth comfy nighties your ipad & charger. Some books & goodies socks for your feet. But it sounds like you might only be in for a day. Whatever good luck & hopefully a positive result. Love & hugs SheilaFxxx. Ps s light dressing gown its getting cool
a pair of cheapo flip flops to wear schlepping in and out of the bathroom. They are easy to put on without bending and you can put them in the bin when youre discharged. Good luck for the op.
For your drive home from the hospital, it helps to have a small pillow to put between your incision and the seatbelt. Best wishes for your recovery. --Lani
Before I went in someone suggested to me to take in a long charging cable for my phone which was brilliant so I didn’t have to keep twisting round - I got a 3meter one off Amazon - good for recovery back at home too. I also took big full brief type knickers - I got a size above my usual size - and I found nighties easier on my tummy than pjs but I did have a big vertical wound because they couldn’t do it keyhole. Good luck xx
long nighties made of t shirt stretchy type material not tight around the neck! Noise cancelling airbuds for listening to music, some straws in case you have more extensive surgery,- for ease drinking stuff, peppermint tea bags, pillow for the journey home and finally for when you get home, a grabber - I keep dropping things!
