Just to wish all you lovely ladies on Ovacome, A very Happy Easter to you all.

I had chemo on 4 April ,just single carbo, as awaiting my Oncologist to give the ok for Caelyx this Thursday. If all ok then I will start the combination on 3 May.

The other question I have is, before the carbo I had as usual anti sickness, and the normal steroids via pump, but was not given any steroids to come home with. I was ok actually, but just wondering if they have cut back on these. The 4th day after chemo i felt a bit tired otherwise ok,and even had a cut & blowdry in the afternoon.

It appears that my Oncologist advised quite a high dose of carbo as the neuropathy in my feet is also in the ankles, so feet feel like wood blocks. I have walked everyday though ,as we live close to the river Severn.

This will be my first question to my Oncologist on Thursday.

Have any of you had acupuncture for this as I do not want any more drugs on top of chemo.

Take care ladies, and enjoy any chocolates over Easter.x

Hi. I started acupuncture for neuropathy after frontline and had it through my carbo caelyx for recurrence and it helped but it’s hard to say how much exactly. I would definitely tell your oncologist. Mine lowered the amount of carboplatin. Hopefully if you get the combo there will be less carboplatin. You can try taking vitamin B6 and icing your hands and feet during chemo. Happy Easter. Xx

Happy Easter to you Caleda. My right ankle and foot has bad neuropathy sometimes it feels like ice. i walk like you and that seems to help. Be interesting to see if anyone has found if something helps. Wishing you every success with chemo. I have scan in May to see if my lymph nodes are behaving. X

Probably walking is the best thing as it improves circulation, but I just thought that someone else may have something to add. I did use epsom salts a few years back to just soak the feet in,which did help a little.Fingers crossed for your scan in May,I hope those lymph nodes are staying back.

Take care, have a good weekend.xx

Hi Caleda and a happy Easter to you too 🌞I noticed that although I started out on carbo only with all the anti histamines and steroids after the first one they cut these down a lot. I didn’t find it very toxic so I coped with it ok but if they are going to add another agent I would check if I were you xx

After doing a lot of reading I took L-Glutamine as prevention. I didn’t get any neuropathy but no way of knowing if this is because of the L-Glutamine. My oncologist had never heard of it but didn’t object. Was a while ago now but think took it for 2 weeks before each chemo. Chemo didn’t work but this is common with clear cell . L-Glutamine , so I read, is prescribed by oncologists in USA . I am a music teacher and was very worried about neuropathy.

That is interesting Neona, thank you I will look that up. So sorry that your chemo did not work, that is frustrating as well as worrying. Have a good weekend.
