I was just notified today that I will need to start monthly infusions of doxil as my ovarian cancer which I was diagnosed with in December of 2017 is now spreading into my omentum and on my colon.
I finished 5 rounds of Carbo/taxol in July of 2021.
My dr. said that it is milder than Carbo/taxol and that I won’t lose my hair but that I have to stay out of the sun.
Can anyone share their experience with me regarding treatment using doxil?
It will be very much appreciated.

It’s much easier than Carbol/taxol (for most women). You may have some thinning but it’s unlikely you’ll go bald. Moisturise hands & feet every day & I recommend using Difflam mouth wash (a.m & p.m) to prevent mouth ulcers. I have some nausea between days 4& 8 & also exhaustion but that’s it!!
I had pegylated liposomal doxorubicin aka carbo/doxil in US. It worked well. Hair only thinned a bit. Skin VERY VERY sensitive to sun and heat. Other than that fine.
I've just completed my six infusions of Doxil and Carbo. Found it much easier than frontline. Hands and feet drier so need to moisturise; hair thinned but not obvious to others; no nausea or rashes; occasional mouth ulcer or cold sore which respond to over the counter treatments meds. Brought my CA125 down but now it's risen again - however, the secondary tumour in my chest muscle has gone. Good luck x
