I saw my oncologist Tuesday for results after my sixth cycle of Carboplatin and caeleyx , some of you will have seen my previous posts and will know I've found it tough ,but it's been worth it ,more reduction of disease since my December scan and my ca125 is down to 14, I'm now having a break , I'll have a scan in about two months and see oncologist after that , hoping for a longer break ,but I'll wait and see .
More good news , our fourth great-grandchild was born Tuesday while I was with oncologist, a little girl ,Lily Rose ,mum and baby doing well ,going to meet her later , current count is 7 grandaughters, 6 grandsons, two great grandsons and two great-grandaughters , no I'm not 110 .🤣🤣A lot to live and fight for .

What a great result Cheryl,You really do deserve a break. Take care of yourself and enjoy your time spent with the family.Pleased to hear that your new great grand daughter and mum are doing well. We have one great grand daughter and another baby expected in September.xx
I am so glad to hear your news, Cheryl. I have been thinking of you. Congratulations on your newest grand and may you and Lily Rose 🌹 have lots of time to enjoy each others company. Best wishes from Louisiana,
Hi Sashay, just hope that you were spared from any damage from the tornado the other day . The weather is weird , we had thunderstorms all night !Gill , Mookie Fox1234
Thanks, Gill. My daughter lives just a few blocks from the devastation in the lower ninth ward. But she did not sustain damage and is fine. Most unusual weather for New Orleans! Hope you are well. Sashay
Thanks Sashay , So glad to hear that your daughter is safe and had no damage , .Those tornados are very scary. Here we get northeasters which can wreek havoc on occasion . Had a pet scan with pretty good results , but for a small recurrence near my pelvis. My oncologist doesn't seem overly concerned since my numbers have been stable .
I did have a bad run in with covid just after Christmas which really took me weeks to recover from . I hadn't been out and , thankfully was fully vaccinated and boosted. I just wish I had more energy .
I was just contacted by Duke University school of medicine to see if I would like to participate in a study , if I consented , they would send me more details ,. Don't think it involves any new treatments, but will see !
Congratulations on the birth of Lily Rose. That’s wonderful news and you certainly have a lot to live for!! It’s also great news about your results. Enjoy your time off treatment. Long may it last! Xx
Congratulations on both counts, such wonderful news! Definitely a lot to live and fight for and I’ve no doubt you will! Enjoy the sunshine and celebrate! Xxxxx
So happy for you !! The treatment is tough going and there and days when it can really get you down. Now you have a brand new great grand child to spoil , love her name !! ❤All the very best to you .
What a fantastic post to wake up to. So very pleased for you. I must say my 2 grandchildren have been my biggest incentive to fight on so I can imagine how you must feel. Well done you and welcome Little Lily Rose. 🌹x

Really good news, thanks for sharing. 🎉 Congratulations 🎊 for the addition to your family and enjoy your break from treatment. Relax and spoil yourself a bit, you deserve it! 💖 😉
To be honest it's really hard being on this horrible merry go round, I fully understand how you feel, every time I try and pull myself up something happens to put me down. I'm a member of quite a few groups now and I feel people in the same boat understand the situation better. Hope the counselling helps, but we're always here for you. Sue xx
I agree Sue ,you and others in the group really understand ,I'm not sure about the counciling but will give it a few weeks ,it's really only others in the same situation that understand the struggle and roller coaster feelings x
Hi Cheryl that's great news about your results and your great grand daughter congratulations ❤️. I had counselling and it really helped me Macmillan organised it for me as there was a 9 month waiting on NHS and it really helped me get through. Good luck with the counselling and going forward.. 😘😘 xx
Thank you win 56 ,my first counciling session was good , also arranged through Macmillan , hoping it will give me the tools to live happily through this .Cheryl x
Good to hear Cheryl. I was in a very dark place and very depressed with my recurrence and the counselling me through it. Ever grateful to Macmillan for their support. All the best. Xxx
I’m so thrilled for you to have had such good news after the difficult time you’ve had of late. Take lots of care, enjoy your break from treatment and give your new baby big hugs from us all lovely lady ❤️Xx Jane
Great news Cheryl so pleased for you on your results, the tough work has been worth it. Congratulations on the arrival of Lily Rose too. We have our second grandchild due in August, they are what keeps us fighting aren’t they?!
Congratulations on the new member of your family! You are certainly blessed! I hope your CA125 stays low and your disease decides to take a hike so you can enjoy a much longer life with your gang! Hugs!
That's so good to hear Cheryl. A new baby always brings joy to the family & is such a wonderful distraction to the horrible time you've had. I found counselling didn't have all the answers I needed but definitely gave me more tools to work with. But just be kind to yourself for a while & for every hug you give to your new grandy, give yourself one too. You deserve it. Love & big hugs Irene xxxx
Thank you Irene ,the counciling session I had this morning was good, but as you said doesn't have all the answers, I think it will help me understand the way I feel and improve the way I react to the roller coaster emotions,we will see .x
Hi Cheryl, congratulations on your new great granddaughter; Lily Rose. I love that name. It is so sweet. I’m also happy for your health news, good for you. Hope you continue for a long time without treatments. Sending a hug, Donna 😊
What wonderful news...on both fronts! I'm very pleased for you Cheryl. Your results will have given the whole family a boost and the new baby will just be the icing on the cake!
You must be one very busy lady and it sounds like the break has come at just the right time for you
Am glad to hear positive news here. And thanks for sharing this as you may help others who are in despair! I have to start carbo taxol in two weeks with the aim of shrinking things to undergo further surgery in Nottingham with the Nottingham team. I start my counselling Monday with a guy through the bupa Macmillan partnership. I qualified after my phone interview for six free weekly sessions. The man is a clinical psychologist
Thank you Rosado22 , wishing you well with your chemo , surgery and counciling,it's a rough road to be on ,and at times I've wanted to give up ,but my growing family has kept me going . Sending love .Cheryl x
Oh thank you so much ,it's taken me longer to get over the last chemo than I expected, don't think I'll ever be the women I was but I'm still here . Going away to Dorset for two weeks tomorrow,so hope to re-charge my batteries ready for round five when it comes .Hope you are doing well.Cheryl xx
