Good news!

Hi ladies,

I havent been on in a while till I had some encouraging news. I have been on niraparib for 3 1/2 months with a ca125 of 977. This is my third recurrence with ppc and 5th cancer overall. I have been dealing with cancer for 12 years now as I'm braca1. I went to my oncologist on Friday after my dreaded pet scan on Wednesday. Well, the cancer is gone. G o n e gone! I'm so thrilled that this wonderful niraparib is working so well. Not only did it irradicate the cancer but it's also fixing my mutation. This is my cancer cure and I can finally take a breath, enjoy life again and make plans for the future. I know it must be hard for you sisters that are currently under treatment but there really is a light at the end of the tunnel. Ots like a great weight has been lifted and I'm beside myself myself with joy! My children and parents and siblings are all over the moon.

Hi

I am pleased that this treatment is working for you and you are NED at present. Definitely celebrate with your family. 🍸

I am curious as to how it has fixed your mutation though. How did the medics explain this?

Best wishes

Fay

What wonderful news! I too am braca1. Can I ask about the side effects of Zejula?

I have started Lynparza when my CA rose again to 44 and I am struggling so bad. Sick and weak ... feel like I have the flu all the time. I can't eat as I feel I have a bowling ball in my stomach, can't work or even function. It's awful to live like this. I know everyone is different but am wondering how this has been for you with Zejula and the effects. I look forward to your reply and thank you in advance if you do. All of you have helped so much and the support here has been a blessing. xoxo

Side effects from zejula are nausea, stomach pain and headache. These symptoms will subside after a few months. Also your red blood cell count might lower considerably and you should monitor these effects. Such as hard to breath, low energy, heavy arms, legs.

Did your ca rise on niraparib and then go down? Just wondering as mine is rising on it😡

No, jools, sorry. My ca125 went down 80% in 2 months and 2 months after that it went down to 36.4 with no evidence of disease. So far so good. I'll let you know if it goes up tho

GREAT NEWS, SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! ENJOY. WILL BE STARTING LYNPARZA SOON. I HOPE I CAN WAIT LONG ENOUGH (FINISHED CHEMO 2 WEEKS AGO) FOR HAIR TO GROW BACK. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF HAIR CAN GROW BACK FROM CHEMO IF YOU ARE ON LYNPARZA? THANKS
