Maintenance after carboplatin

Hi lovely ladies I’m going with mum tomorrow to see oncologist she has just finished six months of chemo and her ca125 has dropped. She’s had niraparib but that stopped working she is not braca positive.

I have the knowledge of asking about hormone therapy as suggested by this forum and avastin was hoping there may be something else as maintenance to ask tomorrow. If we can get her something to keep it stable would be wonderful.

Really appreciate any information.

Much love to all Ali xxx

Hi Ali. Glad the chemo knocked down your mum’s CA125. I finished my frontline chemo in November. Initially, my oncologist was going to add Avastin to my last two chemo sessions and then maintain me on Avastin. But when Niraparib was approved for us BRACA negative ladies, he did not add the Avastin. After chemo, I was offered Niraparib, which I declined because I had grown so weary feeling chemo crappy. Now I am just waiting to see how long I stay in remission. It’s been eight months now. I’m sorry I don’t have more useful info for you, but wanted to wish you and your mum well. Best wishes from Louisiana,

Sashay

Hi thanks for your reply it’s really good news it’s been eight months long may it continue. I can tell you when mum was on niraparib she didn’t have many side effects if that helps best wishes Ali xxx
