Avastin belching!

Hello

I'm first time posting Q's but have gained so much support and information from this site over the past few months ( often in the early hours)

My wife was diagnosed with non BRCA OC 3C in May this year. Treatment has followed a protocol of 4 chemo, de-bulking 2 further chemo then post-op starting Avastin alongside the 5th chemo.

She had her second Avastin 5 days ago along with final chemo, since then she's felt increasingly weak, tired ( chemo?) but with accompanying belching which she finds very uncomfortable there's no apparent bloating and she's eating drinking reasonably well.

Wonder if anyone of you ladies have experienced similar symptoms ?

Thank you

I suffer with this but it usually comes with the ascites, I’m currently waiting to have a drain off again so if your wife isn’t bloated I’m not sure what’s going on ?? I would give her CNS a call and ask if it’s normal when on chemo.

Sorry I’m not much help here but hope someone can help ??

Take care

Christine

Not belching but plenty of wind from other end!!! I told my drs who said that scraping of bowel may have caused.

Hi SASSY

Seems to be predominantly from the other end!! although she does have her moments!

Thanks Christine

We're waiting for CNS to call back , fingers crossed simply a side effect and not a return of the ascites!.

Its an bumpy journey, as a man I'm simply humbled by the support and resilience of the women posting on this site.

I have suffered with reflux since starting Avastin. I find taking Faviscon after every meal and before bed has helped. Can not tolerate any garlic in anything at the moment either. Make sure you run taking any new medication by your wife's team first even if it's available without prescription.

Thank you Tillymint it's 'good' to know this side effect not unique !, starting with peppermints hoping CNS calls back.
