Hello All, First post . Diagnosed Nov 19 Stage 3c primary peritoneal, great 50th birthday year, was fantastic for the weight loss program though! Full debulking surgery March 20 and 5 chemo of Carbo only, due to intolerance to taxol. As BRCA1, Olaparib regime commenced and have been taking them for 4 months. Last 2 months ca125 has risen from 16 to 46 and scan booked by lovely oncologist at York. Anyone had this experience and was it something or nothing? Bit worried but staying positive, I’m feeling well though, hope you all are too :)

Any rise in CA125 is un-nerving isn't it!? Staying positive does help and it is still a low number which is great! Good luck with your scan xo

Glad to hear your being positive .. I only just started asking about the ca125 and what that meant and that was more by choice check with your oncology team but I believe they will just monitor the increase, if I understood how it was explained to me the other day if it starts doubling up at an alarming rate they will do the necessary things to determine why the numbers have increased. Wish you well and hope the ca125numbers start to drop.

Yes a rise in CA125 can be worrying but is just an an indicator of maybe an infection etc. Results have to be considered along with CT/MRI checks. I found the paclitaxel was difficult (taxol) and ended up with neuropathy but managed to finish the regime, 3 years or so ago. Sounds as if you getting treatment you need so do not set too great a store by the CA no. Hope all goes well for you, keep positive. x
