Hello fellow troopers. Ever since my diagnosis of advanced OC last year, I've had the nastiest severe strong ache in my left cheek of my bottom (ischial tuberosity). Now post chemo/surgery and in remission the ache/pain is as bad as ever. I'm on 3 weekly IV Avastin. Anyone else had this? x TudorPurr

Real pain in the bottom
Hello...no I haven’t had this pain but as I also have Rheumatoid as well as OC I do have other pain and I try to be very active in getting pain dealt with because it has such an impact on your life. Pain makes it hard to be active and much easier to fall into depression. Lack of activity can impact on everything from constipation to blood pressure.
I would start with your CNS if you have one and insist that something is done to help you. I don’t know what that would be but there are lots of options. Your pain matters. Good luck with it! xx
I can empathise a little ... after extensive surgery to remove 1.5m of my gut, I had more or less constant pain in that general area for months ... I’m sure your doctors are aware and have investigated but that still leaves you with the pain to cope with ... I can only suggest distraction with something you really enjoy and or feel challenged by, lots of cushions, hot water bottles and perhaps a pain clinic would be worth a visit ... wishing you all the best, S
Hi. I've been on the OC treadmill for 7.5 years & on avastin for the last 4.5 years and have never experienced anything like that (Diagnosed stage 3C). Nor have I read anyone mention it on this site. Hope you find a solution soon.
Best wishes. Pauline.
Thanks
On avastin 6 months not h a d anything like that poor you sounds horrible I hope you can find something to stop it. Keep pestering the doctors.
Never having heard of 'ischial tuberosity' and possible problems, I looked it up; sounds painful. Presumably though, this problem is not connected with your cancer - it certainly occurs in people without cancer. If it isn't caused by cancer, and you have not done so already, speak to your GP and at least ask to see a physiotherapist - a physio may recommend a referral to Orthopaedics, or be able to offer some treatment for relief. You can buy an ischial tuberosity or 'sitting bone' cushion to help ease the pain when sitting down, there's some available on Amazon, but whether they help or not I don't know. Alternatively, some Bowen therapy might help, if you can find a practitioner in your area.

Hello TudorPurr68
I had a year long course of Avastin post carboplatin taxol and although I did experience side effects such as joint pain and headaches I didn’t experience any pain like you describe!
I hope this gets sorted out for you quickly ! I definitely think you should talk to your doctor about it as it could well be
Something that might be sorted quite easily!
Best, best wishes! And do let us know how you get on!
