Swollen stomach

Hi,needs some advice, I have been given a date for surgery 16th of July 10 days away, in the mean time I have swollen up I look 6 months pregnant, I am worried this is causing more damage and if it will continue to get bigger. I am 65 with stage 3 OC

Hello Carrieann53 - it sounds like you have ascites - a build of fluid, very common with ovarian cancer. I had mine drained off 5 litres in all. you will probably have it also drained as a procedure during your op, if you can wait 10 days, if not ask about having it drained off before hand. Either way certainly talk to your oncologist and tell them how you feel. Good luck for the 16th,
