So today I had two hospital appointments first one at 9 o’clock to see if the dreaded catheter can come out (. no luck there ).
Next appointment with consultant to get histology report, unfortunately no clear ink margins, he had resected 6cm of the upper vagina and all margins came back positive for HGSC, even though the tumour was only 2.7cm and 3 lymph nodes positive.
I have an appointment tomorrow back at the Royal Surrey cancer unit to discuss chemo, the positive that came out of today was, no reason why platinum won’t work again.
I thought today getting negative margins would be superb news, and getting the catheter out would just top it off, but it wasn’t meant to be and I am feeling a bit deflated.
