Having a CT scan as I have a shadow on my chest.

Hi been coughing for a week with no blood. I went to the doctors a few times and was told it was costohontrtious. I went several times to the docs same answer always. I started to get severe chest pains and went to A&E again doctor says I have costo.

Got so fed up I demanded a X ray, even private. Finally one doctor listened to me and referred me. Came back with a shadow and water around the lungs, and crackling noise. I have had my results I have a shadow on my lungs, had a blood test I have inflammation markers raised. Now booked in for a Ct scan. Any one had any similar experience, I am at my wits end waiting.

So sorry you have had this experience. I know it’s really hard to wait but we are not experts and the only way to know for sure is to get results of all your tests.

I was wondering what led you to this group, which is for ovarian cancer? Are you currently being investigated for this or is it just a chest problem?

Hi there I have a raised tumour marker on my ovaries. So distressed with it all. This is all a shock to me. Looking for groups that help.

Your feelings are completely understandable and waiting for tests/scans and then their results can be the worst part.

Sorry you weren't listened to at first but what I would advise is when going for results bring a second pair or ears so that both of you will come out with a full understanding of what is decided.
