Wee 1 trial anyone?

Hello ladies. Sorry I haven’t been here lately. Been hunkered down. Sadly the hope I had for the parp inhibitor was short lived. I was on Rubraca for a bit less than 3 months. Had one nice drop in CA 125 but that number rose the following month along with an onslaught of symptoms and the big ascites belly followed up by scan confirming cancer is growing not shrinking. 😪

I was just alerted to a new study nicknamed WEE1 (drug is azd1775). The objective is to determine if this drug (pill) in combo with carbo OR taxol has improved effectiveness on either of these drugs among those who are platinum resistant. I am, reoccurrence a very short few months following first line. I am working to get into the arm of Taxol plus this pill. (Carbo + pill was filled) I am in US. But curious if any of you have heard of this or any experience? My thinking- since front line did initially help, at minimum hoping more taxol may shrink or kill it again. At least for a short time while I figure out next move. Plus, I have been wishing for closer monitoring by my onc and trial patients are closely watched.

I also decided to get a port this time given my veins (and nerves) can’t handle weekly iv again.

Its hard to accept I am a bit more than a year from diagnosis and no better off than I was a year ago. Something has to work! I don’t know how I can sustain this without some good news.

I’m trying to keep my head up. I’m always so in awe of the positivity from you all. ♥️♥️♥️

Wishing you all continued strength and love.

Anne

I am in such a similar position a year after successful debulking. A recurrence very soon after frontline, no monitoring and getting more and more ill while waiting for a clinical trial. Just hope something will work.

🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 It’s always good for me to touch base back here and remember, we aren’t in this alone. ♥️

Hi Ann, you a defiantly not alone I have no advice on Wee1 but I just had to say to you head up my love, I'm sure your team will have you on a treatment plain very soon and you will feel a lot better once this happens.

I've had 5 different chemo treatments in 3 years and I don't think this is the end we just keep hoping that the next one will give us a nice long brake or better still NEDS.

Take care Lorraine xx

Merry Christmas to you and your family🎄🎄

I am with you completely. Keep persevering. I am platinum resistant. There was some mention of challenging this with a chemo i had before. Keep asking for different trials. If you are positive & persistant they will do their very best to find one.
