Bowel issue update

Following my previous post about having difficulty eating and wondering whether it was ascites. Saw my doctor this morning and following an abdominal examination she doesn’t think it is that and more likely that my cancer has grown and is affecting my bowel/stomach so a CT scan is being arranged. I’m so disappointed as 5 weeks ago the Scan showed I was stable. So I’ve been prescribed steroids & anti sickness meds which she hoped will help short term. Obviously once scan done we will know more but I feel very sad especially as today is my 17 wedding anniversary & I can’t celebrate with a nice meal as we had planned.

I am sorry to hear this. I have been back a number of times and I’ve had a swollen stomach and was convinced my as cities was back, appetite disappeared, feeling nauseous. Mine turned out to be faecal loading, basically my bowel was not clearing properly. I do have a stoma. It might be worth thinking of that and taking some laxatives if you feel you could be constipated?

Ah, sorry to hear that Scotty. How long has it been since you finished chemo? I hope the scan comes through quickly and you can get some answers soon xxx

PS Hope you can still go out for your meal in a couple of days once you’re feeling less deflated.

Ranitidine and eating little and often has helped my appetite. Hope you get out to celebrate your anniversary. Xx

I went to a and e as I felt very unwell and have had a previous perforation. They used suppositories for my stoma and gastrographin and xrayed before and after. That cleared mine!!

I am so sorry you don’t feel well enough to celebrate now but you should once you’re feeling better. I do hope the cancer hasn’t started growing again! Wishing you the best possible outcome!

Hoping the steroids help you feel better and I guess no matter what your diet must stay limited. I wish you could find something you love to eat for your anniversary dinner.....but if not, get a postponement of the celebration until you know what's going on. Hope the scan is soon, and the results require nothing more than the right meds to clear it. oxoxxo

I am so sorry but wish you well for your anniversary. I have a stoma and have all sorts of issues including throwing up if I take certain medications that cause constipation.

You must be feeling down now you know you have scans etc ahead but whatever the results try to celebrate that anniversary - even if it’s liquids only ( a glass of bubbles?!!) as you both deserve it!!

Happy anniversary when you get there...🙏❤️💕xx
