anyone have experience of a complex cyst multioccular being stable, just had a repeat scan and it is stable as in it hasn't grown since the last time. It was growing marginally on my right ovary.
Not sure what is facing me next waiting for consultation as just had radiology tv ultrasound again. Anyone had this?
Could it please start shrinking...

it seems that you should remove the right ovary w the mass on it to diagnose what the mass is. Prob not worth the continuing anxiety and wondering what it is. If it’s endometrioma, it won’t go away. It may (but not certain) continue growing, and if so, it may destroy the ovary anyway. Just my thoughts. Wish you the best of luck!🤞
they said stable now but 7cm it was growing marginally but that stopped. Think estrogen driven and estrogen on bloods dropped since last bloods. I am technically not in menopause yet just 5 months gone since periods so you have to be a year no periods to be menopause. One person said it hasn't features of endometrioma and the other consultant said could be related to endometriosis.
Given your age I’d enquire about having it removed and biopsied. I was in a similar situation with a watch and wait approach. I was monitored for 3 years with no growth then discharged. Two years later it massively grew in size. A surgeon told a friend in a similar situation “if it’s in my bucket it’s not causing you any problems.”
Yes it was, with all sorts of things going on. I had 2 and one disappeared. I also had fibroids and have a history of endometriosis. There was a whole party going on in my abdomen. It stayed at around 7.5cm for years from age 50 then grew to over 40cm when I was 55. I had an early menopause, in my mid forties and wonder whether that was related.
I was diagnosed with a simple cyst aged 43 and kept on watch and wait for three years, with scans (TV ultrasound) every six months. The cyst waxed and waned, sometimes 4cm, once up to 9cm, but always described as simple, until a scan in October 2016 when the radiographer gave a sharp intake of breath and said this doesn’t look like a simple cyst.
I then had an MRI and they still weren’t entirely sure what it was (borderline ovarian tumour was the latest) but we decided that as I was by now 46 and had completed my family, the whole lot should come out. I had a total hysterectomy and histology showed the cyst was an endometrioid carcinoma. I was staged 1C and had six rounds of chemo, because the tumour burst during my op. Chemo finished in May 2017 and since then I have been lucky enough to have no evidence of disease.
Anyway easy for me I know, but I guess this is a long winded way of saying I wouldn’t be happy with watch and wait.
thanks very much for your reply, can you recall if the complex cyst was solid ? I thought it was good news last scan that it was stable. Was your CA125 raised too?
Sorry for the delay Ova, I was trawling back through my scan reports and eventually came up with one that showed ‘persistence of the cyst with the addition of an ill-defined hypoechoic (likely solid) structure seen in the left ovary. Her Ca-125 was normal at 24.’
I think the highest my CA125 ever got to was 28, so that clearly wasn’t a particularly helpful marker for me. Immediately post-chemo it dropped to 7 and now hovers around 10-12.
Hope this helps and please feel free to ask any other questions.
Thanks again for reply. My CA125 was 7 recently prior to this was 11. It said MRI no solid areas but I won't know until I go back recent radiology scan tv ultrasound. I am not sure online it says all complex cyst are solid.. so confusing
I had a complex cyst and was it removed, unfortunately as the lady jmb it burst open on removal and i was diagnosed with cancer 1c ..had 6 rounds of chemo and am cancer free for 11 years now ..i think maybe getting it removed maybe the best idea ..i always think bettrer to be safe than sorry ... hope this helps
sorry to hear you have all this worry but as others have said they won’t know exactly what it is until it is removed. I had a large complex cyst removed 20 plus years ago and although it was cancer after surgery and chemo I have been fine. Wishing you all the best with the decisions you have to make.
