Surgery is done and I'm now cancer free. Lot less parts than when I went in but I didn't need them anyway lol. Have already got the catheter out and took a shower gonna rest a min or two then walk down the hall cause I plan on going back home today.

I had to walk the hall to have them let me go home today so I did that and took a nap then took a shower and then took a nap lol. Trying not to over do but just needed to feel clean after surgery.

Aww that's good. Remember tho, be kind to yourself, take it easy, be a bit selfish and let others do for you, even if you think you can do something, that way you will recover better and faster. Just think all that lovely daytime TV(!!!!). xxx

She is nine months. I won't be able to pick her up but they can hand her to me. She is my whole heart

Great news . So pleased you are up and about but as others have said take it easy . A little walk each day is good but don't over do it and definitely no lifting . Let others wait on you for a couple of weeks . Love and best wishes Kim x

Thank you so much. I pray it will. The final pathology for lymph nodes and stuff takes two weeks. But as it stands now no chemo or anything they got it all but have to sit for final say as to if it was in any lymph nodes. So I get to let the kids wait on me for a couple weeks

Wow that's amazing! I seem to recall being asleep for nearly a week and only allowed a bath on the third day under the supervision of a nurse and not allowed home for a week. Things have certainly changed.

As the others have said it's worth pacing yourself as your body has had a huge assault on it. Also be mindful of all the internal stitches you will have had too. I in my ignorance wasn't aware of them til I was told I'd given myself adhesions by doing too much too soon. I just wanted to show everyone I wasn't at death's door!

All that aside, wishing you a happy and straightforward and speedy recovery.

Catherine 😘💐

Thank you so much. Yea the nurse has already told me how bad my internal stuff was and repeatedly told me to be easy and lift nothing over a gallon of milk

Jess,

Your great up and about already. You might think you feel good but when everything wears off you might find your a bit sore, so relax and take it easy.

Hope all turned out good for you.

Best of luck,

Ann Nora 🍀

That is absolutely fantastic, I hope you get home nothing like being in your own bed

Oh Jess, this is such great news and I am so happy you came through surgery and are well enough to write!! You've given me a lot of hope for my own surgery coming up this Wednesday. Did I read it right that you had surgery and are going home in the same day?! I was told I would be in the hospital for a week and likely out of commission for the rest of October. Did you have your surgery open or robotically? Please follow the advice of everyone and TAKE IT EASY! I have had to learn that I only make it harder on myself when I push myself too hard (something I have a tendency to do). I think surgery for OC and CC is going to hard enough so I'm planning on treating myself with a lot of love. YOU DO THE SAME! I am rooting for your path report to be cancer-free just like your new insides! Love & hugs!!

Thank you so much. The more prayers the better!! I had the robotic surgery. I had so much going on inside my tummy the ONC surgeon was afraid he would have to open me up all the way but he managed to get it all robotically so I only spent 24 hours in hospital then came home. The rules here in the states are if robotic hysterectomy 24 hours if open midline incision hysterectomy 72 hours in hospital. The pain is not too bad. I have 5 little incisions two on each side of my stomach and one in my belly button. More just irritation in the inside when I move because of all the internal stitches because I had a ton of adhesions from severe endometriosis and also had severe pelvic inflammatory disease. I am taking it easy. My kids are teens so they are helping me with everything. I will be out of commissions for about 3 weeks. If you have to big open surgery it is about 6 weeks recovery time is what I was told to prepare for. I pray you will be able to have the robotic surgery if it is offered in your area. It really is much easier on your body and recovery time is a lot less.

Great news.

Rest up though. Don’t overdo things even if you feel like you can do lots.

Take care xxx

lol I feel ok except for the soreness but I am gonna take it easy because I have a ton of stitches on the inside and I sure don't want to end up back in hospital because I was hard headed lol. So as hard as it is for me to let others do for me I am gonna have to for a couple of weeks

Great to hear you’ve had successful surgery and so much less invasive than the norm! But still pretty major so do rest up and take things slowly, now is YOUR time to be looked after!!

Healing wishes from across the pond
