Jet lag & jam 😁

Hi lovely ones,

Well, we returned home from our mammoth trip to NZ for the Lions Tour on Thurs and as the jet lag is setting in, I decided to make jam this morning with plums from the garden I'd frozen last year (we had a bumper crop!). It's turned out pretty damn good if I do say so myself. We're super lucky our beautiful Cotswold garden produces an abundance of fruit so there is always something kicking about begging to be preserved! 😊

So here it is...cinnamon spiced (smooth) plum jam...now to put ones feet up & enjoy the women's Wimbledon final....anyone else want to join me with a cup of tea and a crumpet with jam? 😋

Hi Jemima, Enjoy the cuppa☕️, jam 🍯 and especially the tennis 🏸, I'd love to join you however I'm busy packing to come home, we fly this evening so we will be fairly zombified soon too but hope I'm compos mentis enough to watch the final day of Wimbledon I love the tennis. Oooh! We were just talking about homemade plum jam at lunchtime. I have an auntie who makes all sorts of jams, but our family favourite is plum. My eldest daughter was raving about it!

I normally make my 'Jumbleberry Jam' which involves home grown black currants, red currants and black berries but alas, all the red currants have gone whilst we were away and the black currants have struggled too. So I chose plum instead as had loads in the freezer plus more on the tree still to come! Yummy 😋 my problem is I just can't make enough to keep everyone happy! I have a demanding bunch of friends and family when it comes to my jam....& a few neighbours! 😁

Glad you enjoyed your holidays and jet lag or not you still had the energy to make jam. A lovely home made scone with your jam sounds lovely, pity I live in Ireland 🍵🍰

H iJemina welcome home. I am glad you had a lovely trip. But nothing like a good cuppa when you come back. The tour had to be fantastic and the lions were good.

It was SO wonderful to come home...especially after such a long trip! But we had a great tour and were incredibly proud Lion supporters 🦁🏉👍🏻

But we have just bought a river boat so will get loads of air and excercise and family time😀👍

water is so soothing and such fun with friends and family plus it's just 30 mins to our boat so we can go on a whim.

I love making jams and jellies. Usually raspberry, red currant jelly and black currant jelly, apple jelly, hedgerow fruits plus Seville orange marmalade in the New Year, not to mention a chutney or two. I made plum jam only once and I must have done something wrong as the skins were quite a bit tough. Would you mind sharing your recipe and method and I could try again? I have access to some wild plums although they are still quite green.

I paid more attention to the rugby than I have ever done since I knew you were there. Glad you enjoyed your trip.
