Hello everyone, I'm new here and a little worried. Last month I had a hysterectomy. I was very surprised when my doctor told me she had removed my left ovary since I was supposed to keep both of them. It was stuck to my colon (adherence), there were some little tumors on the ovary, it was gray and uneven. I tried to find information on this and can't find any. The CA125 test was normal and so was the vaginal ultrasound yet they fond a few little cysts and tumors, endometriosis. Do any of you know anything about a gray ovary and what it means? Thanks

Sophie, your surgeon should have sent tissue from your surgery to the pathologist who can identify any cancer. This is necessary to determine whether you need further treatment. Call your doc and get the report.
Thank you Tesla_7. Although I was still in the clouds due to the anesthesia, I did ask her if it was sent to pathology. I kind of am impatient because my appointment with the gynecologist is on July 19th. I am located in Quebec. And with the problem we are currently having with having a doctor here, you take what you can get. My GP is going on retirement but I've emailed her. so far, she's answered all the other questions I've asked her, but is avoiding this one. Late last night I discover information on Surface epithelial-stromal tumor. From what I know about my ovary, this is the thing that most resemble my situation... My ovary was of regular size and hard from what I know. We shall see. Thanks again
It sounds as though you need to ask them some questions. Do you have a phone number you can call? Or ask your GP to explain.
Gosh you do have a bit of a wait but try not to stress about the what ifs and dont google, somethings that pop up when you google are downright scary and do us no good at all. The best person to explain this is your consultant I imagine your wait is due to holiday season about to start.
