Scan back, it's good news!

Hi lovely ones,

I had my follow up USS on Monday & have just seen my Onc. Pleased to report all looks good & the cyst they saw on the scan in Nov has gone! 👍🏻 And I needn't have worried about a lack of follow-ups either as she's agreed to see me every 3 months for 2 years with a scan every 6 months unless I have symptoms. Even after discharge, I can come directly back to see her at any stage, bypassing GP. Can't ask for better than that!

She's noted the abdominal pain I've been experiencing and suspects it's either scar tissue or bowel related but for now we're going to leave things & see if they settle down. She's also switched my contraception (again).

So all in all a very positive meeting ☺

Re your bowel, if it continues get a referral for a flexible sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy. Mine was clear but I found out I had a very twisted intestine (blame my surgeon the consultant said) I didn't want to be told I had bowel related issues when I didnt!!

Just a thought !

Thanks Clare - it has crossed my mind that my bowels may have been jiggled about as a consequence of the two ops but we'll see how things go. The pain seems to mainly be in the vague area of my remaining ovary but also shoots through to my lower back too sometimes. Will keep an eye on things and I'm sure my Onc will investigate if things persist! 😘😘

That's good. I had to go from my Onc to my GP and ask HER to refer me! Had the referral on Dec 12th and sigmoidoscopy on Jan 5th. Onc not interested and there was no liaison between Onc and GP so I did it myself! glad your Onc is on the ball for you.
