Well ladies; had my USS of a do and pelvis and internal and no sign of OC. CA125 blood-test also clear. I was so relieved

Not-so-good-news is that my FIT bowel screening came back positive so I have a 2-week referral to the Colorectal services for either an appointment with a specialist or a Colonoscopy because of my risk factors and symptoms so it’s just a awaiting game now. Thanks for all your support and kindness over this past week

Glad you don’t have OC but sorry that you have this further referral. You can have a colonoscopy where they pump you full of gas and do it by CT if you don’t want the scope xx

Hi Lyndy never heard of the colonoscopy doneThe way you mentioned wish ld have know that was possible the other week when l had it. Sounds a much a simpler way than the scope. Xx

The downside is that if you have polyps you’ll still need a colonoscopy to remove and biopsy them.

Great that you don't OC..something positive! Such a pain about the worry you now have about the bowel investigation but at least you are being referred quickly and hopefully all will be okay. Good luck and please let us know how you get on. Xx

Glad they are investigating the bowel issue, as it's very easy for the ball to be dropped between departments. I have Lynch syndrome, so my lifetime risk for bowel cancer is about 80% (and ovarian cancer is part of the Lynch syndrome pattern), so I have a colonoscopy every 2 years. Don't go for the CT option, as it doesn't give anything like as much information as a scope. You need to know what's going on and as delia2 says, if there are polyps you'll still need a scope to remove them. And the scope is a breeze compared with the prep.
