Hi all, I hope you are all well ?

Just a quick question - in your experience how long did chemo start after the appointment with the oncology consultant ... I have an appointment on Wednesday and was just wondering the time frame.

I think it was a matter of days, less than a week. I think I saw the consultant on Thursday and had chemo the following Tuesday.

It seems that 2 weeks is roughly the amount of time to wait . I had 2nd surgery 3 weeks ago so I was thinking it would be around 2 weeks .

I had my hysterectomy at the end of the November and chemo started in the February. Time to recover and after my first appointment with chemo consultant where chemo was discussed I went back a week later for blood results and after that a date was set. Good luck xx

My cancer was discovered during a hernia operation during which the surgeon called in a gyn/onc to do a laproscopy to take a look-see of my abdomen and reproductive organs. So things moved pretty fast because I suddenly had a gyn/onc without having to look for one. I had a CT scan 2 weeks later, after surgery followup and first chemo 2 weeks after that. 1 month after 1st chemo I had my debulking surgery, giving me a nice cross scar on my abdomen formed by the incisions from the 2 surgeries.

In addition, I had my second chemo in the hospital 7 days after debulking.

I found a cyst 8 weeks ago and had CT & bloods nothing indicating cancer . 1st op just left overie taken - 9 days later told by onc did have cancer - 2nd op 5 weeks later total hyst lymph nodes omentum . Post op 3 weeks tomorrow - I'm lucky I have 1a grade 3 high grade cells and a nice 12 inch vertical incision ... oh and surgical menopause is just starting to kick in 😂😂

I had a laparotomy. My surgeon mentioned chemo would begin earliest at 4 weeks after surgery and no later than 6 weeks after surgery.

Mine wasn't til about 8 weeks after my op. I had to phone up and chase. I think they had forgotten me!

Two weeks after seeing oncologist for the first time, they wanted me to be at least 6 weeks post op before chemo started (I'd had other issues as well as the OC). You could get your first treatment before Christmas. Sending good wishes with your treatment. ❤️Xx

They always ask me if I have anything coming up and fit it in with what I want as well as the infusion centre. Last time when the docs asked when I wanted to start I said 'tomorrow' but they couldn't fit me in until the next week xx

I saw the Oncologist 2 weeks post-op, just after results from my gynaecologist. Then saw her again at 5 weeks post-op for bloods and started the chemo the following week (6 weeks post-op in order for me to heal enough before chemo). X

Mine was pretty sharpish. I'd had two lung drains and it was a relief to start treatment.
