I am going in for cycle 6 of my IV/IP chemo. I seem to feel really wired and shaky during the daytime but come 5pm i feel so much better and my appetite picks up. has anyone else experienced this type of a pattern?

Hi

Yes I occasionally felt like that.. Particularly when taking high dose steroids . If it's normal for you then go with it and eat when you are up to it rest when you are wobbly ...best of luck ! Lxx

I agree with Lindy, rest when you are wobbly and eat when you feel up to it small meals a few times are better digested rather than one larger meal. Keep taking fluids as much as you can

This is exactly me. I'm fine getting up and having breakfast, then for some reason I feel anxious. I think it's because I don't know what to do all day. Weirdly when it gets to tea time I seam to settle, watch TV and go to bed quite ok.

The only thing I can put it down to is being at home in the day is not my normal. I go out for walks and meals to fill time but hate that I have to do that all the time to feel calm. I question every day what am I gonna do. By the time it's evening again it's not a worry.

I really hope it's just a side effect of chemo and I can get back to some kind of normal sooner rather than later.

Hope you are doing good.

Mandy, xx

Yes, I think that anxiety and the chemo have a lot to do with it.

The days are so long. I spend a lot of time trying to drum up an appetite for the next meal and scouring the news to see if they have come up with something new for OC which of course raises the anxiety level.

I am not going out at all except to the hospital because I am nervous about infections. Once I went grocery shopping with my partner and ended up with chills and a fever.

Just one cycle left (two days of infusions) and then I hope to begin to feel better. But of course then there will be new anxieties.

Yes yes yes !! Not quite the 5pm thing but throughout chemo (and I'm on my 4th lot since 2010) I have felt worse in the mornings. On my bad days I stay in bed or just slob around the house till lunchtime, but I feel much better later in the day and always go for a walk in the afternoon. I do clock watch a bit as well and feel better when I know my partner will be home soon and there will be something worthwhile on TV.
