It's time to say goodbye to Chris,
A very dear friend we shall miss.
It is hard for us not to question why,
As we whisper the familiar words goodbye.
A friend in the true sense of the word,
Contemplating this loss seems too absurd.
And yet it's the nature of this disease,
It seems to take whom it should please.
Diagnosed almost three years ago,
Not good news as we all know.
She's not had a lot of remission since then,
Having treatment over and over again.
Even though Chris was in a lot of pain,
She was never one to complain.
Chris faced her illness with apparent ease,
A very brave lady with an advanced disease.
Chris lived for her family this was plain to see,
An inspiration to us all I am sure you'll agree.
Our thoughts are with her loved ones now,
As they come to terms with their loss somehow.
We know life without her will never be the same,
Comforted by the knowledge she's no longer in pain.
Please accept our very deepest sympathy,
As we all join together with empathy.
