Op date!!: Hello again ladies. Don't know what... - My Ovacome
Op date!!
Hi. Glad you have your date!! The waiting is very hard and you will have all kinds of mixed emotions!! It's all the " what if's ". Just try to be strong and if you need to talk just write on the forum. We all know what you are going thru and how you are feeling, everyone is here to support each other!! Prayers for good results!!
Thank you Rhonda. Feels so much better having a 'date', why, ime not sure...it just does
Hi Puddle - good that you have a date and that you should be feeling a lot better for Christmas. I had to wait three weeks for my op because I wanted the surgeon who diagnosed me to do it. It also gives you a chance to get everything ready, like organising getting home and stocking up your larder with good post-op stuff (lots of lemons and ginger for me!) and any other help you might need. People on here will have lots of helpful suggestions. Four weeks will go really quickly and try not to worry. We're all here for you. Wishing you loads of luck x
Thankyou. Don't think I can get any more in larder/freezer ( I'm indoors thinks ime getting ready for Armageddon)lol...
the support from the site is very helpful and great fully recieved

Hi Puddle - good you've got your op date. Looks like you're going to have a nice lazy Christmas being throughly spoiled. Don't forget, no housework for at least a year after your op! lol
Seriously though, you will need to rest and in the words of my surgeon 'lift nothing heavier than a credit card' for six weeks. That might take some discipline over the Christmas season when there's so much for us to think about.
Keep posting! xx love Annie
Thank you Annie.. I am going to find it very hard taking a back step as my 2 sons and 5 grandchildren always come to me at Christmas. One grandson is training to be a chef so will have to sit and watch him do it!!
My posts keep getting cut short, any ideas what I am doing wrong?
I am glad you got your date and you will be in good form by Xmas day but remember you cant lift anymore than a cuppa for at least six weeks, It is a stressful time waiting but plan a treat for yourself before then. I am glad you will have help for Xmas so sit back and relax.
Thank you Suzuki . I think I will need something stronger than a cup of tea!! G & T more like lol, I am going to have to grit my teeth and let them do it.. Am hoping to go away for a weekend at end of November with 'the girls'. 7/8 of us descending on Chester. Have been doing 'girlie trips' for the last 19 years so don't want to miss this one, they wIll make sure I keep smiling :-)) sending good vibes to everyone, Jennyx
Great idea Jenny, and plenty of retail shopping as well dont forget. I believe Chester is nice, my cousin lived there for a while many years ago.
A date gives you something to focus on. Good luck and speedy recovery! Have a lovely festive season.

Hi Puddle, I had to wait 4 weeks for my op too. Don't worry, the time will go in quickly and before you know not you will be in hospital. Its funny, most people dread going into hospital for surgery, but it couldn't happen quick enough for me, different circumstances I suppose. As my way, I see you have been filling your larder ready for your return home and the festive season already so that's good. As Annie has advised no heavy lifting (no heavier than a kettle with a cupful of water), no housework, let your family look after you for a change, if you need to get involved with Christmas dinner, supervise, dish out instructions, nothing else lol.
Good nuck with surgery and let us know how you are getting on. Ann xo
I hate predictive text lol
