It is in the abdomen, several little bits but not in lymph nodes or in any other organs. Chemotherapy soon with Avastin hopefully. Not surprised as CA125 was 1058 but still leaves you feeling rather shaky and upset. Here we go again with the fight! Lovis

Cancer is back confirmed by CT scan

I'm so sorry to read this, although it's a scary time, chin up and keep up the good fight. Am sending you a huge virtual hug

As the link from Gwyn shows .. this number - doesn't necessarily mean anything untoward ..

Here's a piece from there ..
'CA 125
CA 125 is a substance found in the blood called a glycoprotein (a sugar associated protein). it is commonly referred to as a “biomarker” — or “tumor marker” — because it provides information about the biological state of a disease (ovarian cancer) and is obtained by a blood sample from which a level can be measured. But it is more accurately considered a “tumor associated protein” because elevated Ca 125 levels do not always indicate ovarian cancer and levels can misrepresent a biological state. For instance, Ca 125 can be absent when disease is present, or levels can be high when no disease or no malignant disease exists. in addition, two patients with the same level can have widely different disease burdens. as you’ll see or have personally experienced, this is certainly the case for ovarian cancer patients. nevertheless, as a tool, serial changes in Ca 125 levels, if elevated, can be fairly representative of disease status and frequently very helpful in the assessment of women with ovarian cancer.'
Sending hugs too. X
Hi Lovis, sorry to hear this news but at least you know and can be treated. I, and many others, are on 2nd line, gemcitabine and carboplatin plus Avastin. My CA125 was 6,000+ and after 5 cycles down in the 600's. One more to go, and must say its been quite bearable this time
Keep us up to date on treatment plan. Keep fighting! Love n hugs Izzystep xxxx
So sorry to hear your news. Sounds like you will be on same treatment as I was. It has it's side effects but I did not find it quite as bad as first line treatment.
Take care
Jill
Hi Lovis, just wanted to say sorry to hear you're having this worry again. I'm sure that the new treatment plan will be a good thing and it sounds as if your team are offering ways of coping with the recurrence. All the best, sending you a cyberhug (((xxx)))
Love Wendy xx
Hi Lovis
It's always disappointing to hear the cancer is on the loose again. I've just finished my second line of chemo with Avastin and it hasn't been at all bad. I've been comparing notes with Leftleg1 and Izzystep. It has been good to have chemo buddies to cheer one another along.
I hope the chemo goes well and zaps those cells. xxx Love Annie
Hi Lovis, So sorry to read your message - I am in the same situation and after chemo + avastin, I remain on Avastin and am still here, nearly 17months since the OC came back, and like you also in the abdomen. I have a good quality of life and while there are some things I am not allowed to do, I lead a full and busy life. I am glad also that TinaB gave you the link to 'foundationforwomen' , as I clearly explains about ca125 - so don't put too much emphasis on low or high readings . Best of luck with the treatment. xxxx Daisies
Hi Lovis. So sorry you are having to go through treatment again. After first line treatment it must be what we all fear the most. Put your boxing gloves on and come out fighting again!
Best wishes
Annette xxx
