Hi everyone, I dont know if you remember me but I posted a couple weeks ago about my fiances mum. She went to christies on tuesday to see

the consultant and he said that the ovarian cancer will be treated with chemo. He also said that there is an 80% chance of that they can get rid of this. She has to have her belly drained this friday because all the fluid has come come back, I think its called ascites, then after this she will have chemo for 9 weeks (1 every 3 weeks). After her chemo, if the cancer has shrunk I think my fiance said they will remove it if all is well after chemo. I know its been a while since ive posted but we didnt know much until she saw the consultant at christies on tuesday. Hope everyone is doing well, love to you all, Zoe xx

Hi Zoe. 'Mum' will feel so much better after having the fluid drained..I had 4 1/2 litres drained and lost nearly 1/2 stone!! I had 3 cycles of chemo, CT scan plus lapo, then de- bulking operation, then another 3 cycles. If they have caught her OC in time she will be fine. Keep strong. Send her best wishes xxxx

Hi Zoe, I had drainage a week before I started chemo (just over two years ago) It did help but the chemo helped even more. Hope your mum will have the same outcome.

Love to you both

It's always good once a plan is in place as you feel like positive steps are being made. Once chemo begins I am sure you will get further insight into progress and help your future mum in law through the next stage to surgery. All the best to you all big hugs Amanda

Hi Zoe, the prognosis looks good, 80% sounds very hopeful. I was told that they rarely tell you everything will be fine, as they have to cover all possibilities. I was told I had a 50/50 chance of recurrence, but I'm still here after nearly eleven years. Hope it all works out as well for your fiancee's Mum
