I hope I am posting this right! Mum always wanted me to let you all know. I am so sorry to say that she passed away this afternoon, it has come as such a shock as she was told on Monday that the chemo was working and her CA125 was down to 300. On Thursday she was rushed into hospital with pneumonia, and died suddenly this afternoon. To say I am heartbroken is an understatement. I am so sorry this message is muddled. I know she was always grateful to the lovely friends she made on her, especially Jan and Gywn (hope that's right) she loved coming on here for help and advice. Sarah x

What horrible news. I am so sorry. What an awful shock for you all in your family. It's always so hard to hear about the loss of a friend on here, your Mum was very much a part of our circle of friends on this site. Linda was always so up-beat and positive, I know she helped so many women with her wisdom and caring words. She will be sadly missed. My sympathies to you and your family. Thanks so much for letting us know.
All the best to you and your family. Your Mum will have left you with much love and happy memories.
Love Wendy xx

Dear Sarah
Thank you so much for coming on to this site to let us know what happened to Linda. It is a terrible shock and so unexpected.
Your Mum was a really lovely woman. I enjoyed reading all her posts and comments and I loved her take on things. I shall miss her terribly.
My only consolation is that she didn't suffer. I'm sending my heartfelt condolences and love. Please pass on my thoughts to your family.
love Annie x
Annie, I am so sorry I didn't mention you in the first post, I just could not rememeber your name. Mum thought so much of you and mentioned you so many times. She was always so grateful of the support and advice you offered, it was almost like she looked up and admired you. Mum was also very chuffed when you gave her recommendations when we went to London in January. Thank you for being a support to her when she most needed it xxx
Dear Sarah, I didn't expect anyone to mention my name but I realise now that I tell my family about some of the great characters here on Ovacome and some of the things they post up so one day Hannah and Becky are going to be in the same shoes as you. I'm just one of a great number of friends here who really admired your mum and enjoyed her company. Like Chrystyn (Kirsty) I loved her screen name and often wondered how she dreamed that up. I got the impression from first joining the site that she was a lot of fun because she'd always pop up in conversations with her wry humour, a kind few words, and a good dose of common sense.
Linda and I had a long exchange about your trip to London and she was kind enough to get back to me afterwards to say how much she enjoyed her weekend with you all. I think you couldn't have done any more as a family than to make time for one another and enjoy each others' company when times were good.
The loss is incredibly raw for you at the moment. It's awful at any time but particularly coming out of the blue when Linda was doing so well on chemotherapy and we all expected her to benefit from it. If it's any consolation at all my daughters have to cope with my view that I don't want to limp on for years not being able to do things I enjoy. I'd hate them to pity me or to be a burden to them. I wonder if you Mum would have thought along much the same lines. I promise you in time the rawness and loss will ease and you'll just have the most wonderful memories of your mum. I'm sure her wise words and advice will continue to remain with you and guide you for the rest of your life so in a sense she will always be with you.
Your Dad has kindly sent a message on FB and I mentioned we'd had a Desert Island Disc blog. Linda's choice reflected her love for you and all your family. I thought at the time it was a beautiful song. Very sad - but it suggested your mum had thought long and hard about what would happen and her over-riding concern was her love for you all. I've played it several times this weekend and it makes me cry but it also reminds me of what was best about your mum.
I'm sad that the Health Unlocked site seems to have temporarily obscured a lot of our history. I'm sure this glitch will be rectified soon and that you'll be able look back on your Mum's friendships here. I've been told by another friend who lost his wife to Ovarian Cancer that it helped him a lot to read those posts.
As Angie says, please do keep posting here if this is a comfort or send a PM. I shouldn't speak for everyone but I'm sure any one of us would be happy to do whatever we can to help at this very sad time.
Sending love hugs, and a big cup of tea. xxxx Annie
