Hi Hairless beauty, I just came on site and your blog came up, Congratulations on your achievement. So this result is fantastic and hopefully you wont get a recurrence. You have worked through this long and hard so well done. I hope you are celebrating this weekend with a bottle of wine great news
Hi Michelle, I had scans before, one during g the treatment and then another one 2 months after chemo. There was a spot on my lung so I got appointment for another scan, to check what is it. I was told in clinic that I got the ct only because the spot. It is not routine to get ct scans after treatment, if you feeling ok as ct radiation is not good for us as well. I wish I have ct scanner at home... 😉
Zaneta, so pleased for you, I've read that the anxiety felt before a scan is recognised as Scanxiety, I'm sure it's something many do and will relate to. Glad this stressful time is now over, celebrate today xxx

please can you tell me how many times you did the CT scan while receiving chemotherapy??I am now in my second cycle chemotherapy so when should I do CT scan to check my progress?thank you
As far as I know they don't do ct scans till endo of chemo treatment. I had one I think just after first chemo only because I had really bad pain in my chest. I had my ribs broken during surgery because doctors had a problem to get my diaphragm out and clean space under my ribs from cancer cells. Everything was fine, pain was coming from scars, broken ribs etc. Second scan I had in December 2015, 3 months after last chemo. Was clear from cancer cells, but there was a spot on my lung. That's the reason I got scan this month, to check is something happening with this spot. I was told on my last consultation that the ca125 will be checked every 3 months, no ct scans... I'm not happy with this but what can I do... I won't buy my own ct scanner 😢😉
