Hi. I have severe osteoporosis too. Have been on Forteo for the last four months . Can’t say there are no side effects as it seems to effect people differently . So I won’t go in to what bothered me. Important thing is exercise as I found that when I sat around not doing anything I woul feel much worse . I will say that after the first month you do overcome the side effects. It seems to be the latest treatment fir osteoporosis and the safest (hopefully) . Please try and walk as much as you can

Thankyou for sharing this! Here is more information on Forteo: americanbonehealth.org/fda-...
Parathyroid Hormone (PTH) is an anabolic treatment for osteoporosis that stimulates new bone growth and reduces fracture risk. PTH is generally reserved for individuals with severe osteoporosis. Studies have demonstrated significant increases in bone mineral density and large decreases in fractures. PTH is a daily injection (like insulin) that is prescribed for 12-24 months. Forteo is approved for men and postmenopausal women with osteoporosis who are at high risk for fractures.
Brand name is Forteo®.
Side effects may include dizziness and leg cramps.
Thanks Mark. Could you let me know more side effects of Forteo injections please . Do they get better in time or worse . Doctors don’t tell you anything !
Thank you for your response and that great advice. I wish you the best! I agree, walking and movement really help just about everything related to the body and mind.
Hi Lolalee
I have osteoporosis also. September 2017 T7 spine fracture. December 2019 another spine fracture T5 and.....Feb this year another spine fracture T11. I was asked to take Prolia injections 6 Monthly but I'm too scared to have it as I have a lot of allergies...I had 1 Alendronic acid in Hospital October 2017 and my right arm swelled up and went bluish....very scary. I have underactive thyroid also and take levothyroxine for it but only low dose. I researched Prolia and found that it interacts with some medications and could cause crumbling jaw femur fractures loss of calcium etc etc. My blood tests for calcium and Vitamin D were normal. I take InvitaD3 25,000iu's Monthly. Any advice would be good. P.S. Always exhausted x
