infra red light therapy

good afternoon.

Has anyone tried infra red light therapy? Has it helped with the pain at all ?

I’m thinking of getting a belt (as against a lamp) as it would be targeted.

I’d just like to talk to someone who has tried this.

Thank you

I’ve just ordered an indoor sauna. There is a lot to research before you purchase. I have learned that you get what you pay for. Radiant Health Saunas, based out of Canada is what I decided on. Low EMFs and other features I liked. Check out Certified Saunas on YouTube with Matt Justice. He’s got a ton of videos on all different saunas - all different price ranges. I also joined the Certified Saunas Community on Facebook before I decided on my purchase. Lots of good info and feedback from community. Looking forward to using the sauna soon! Beware - some companies will hound you with phone calls and texts after you request pricing on line from them. Radiant Health does not do that. Good luck!

Hi Kat I have been wanting to get a small one or 2 person infrared sauna for our home for a long time Could you tell me specially which one you bought from radiant health ?

I bought the E-3H. It’s just the two of us but my understanding is better to go a little larger because the two person would be kind of tight for the two of us. My husband is 6’4, slender build, I am 5’3, also a slender build.

I have a Lifepro Red Light Therapy Belt. I've had issues with my hip/glute area. I usually use it post-workout recovery for about 25 minutes a session about five times a week. The heat from it does relaxes my muscles. Since I've been using it, I feel it does help with inflammation. I find it soothing, but I don't know how it would be if you used it for severe pain. There are places that have red light therapy that you could probably book a session with to see how your body responds to it before purchasing anything. For instance there are wellness centers, chiropractic places, medical spas and physical therapy, and cryotherapy centers that offer red light therapy.

I have a Lifepro belt and small square light. The belt is good for a small specific area (it helped my husbands arthritic hands). The square light is good for larger areas. I use that for my hip/lower back. I feel they both help.

Would it work on the tight tendon on the outside of my left knee? I have trouble with that. If it works on arthritic hands, surely it can go around my knee. . . .

I would assume so. I'm just going off of what we've done.

My daughter bought the Lifepro belt on Amazon last year. We both use it for back pain. The heat is very soothing and will wear it while watching tv. It definitely helps with pain and happy to get some relief.

Hi. I have a 2 person Canadian Chilliwack far infra red home sauna. It also has other coloured light options for instance blue light helps with deeper better sleep. I love it. It is comfortable heat, unlike other saunas. It makes you sweat without being too hot.

Yes it does help tremendously with pain. I've had several vertebral fractures from which I have sharp pain. The warmth has the added benefit of helping the muscles relax which also relieves the nagging duller pain where my muscles have gone into spasm and stayed that way over a number of years. The benefits to general health are also numerous for instance improving circulation and detoxification. Worth checking out on the internet. The sauna also has bluetooth speakers so I choose music or listen to an audio book sometimes.

Anyone thinking of buying one, I'd say research and be aware that that there are near infra red, far infra red, and some saunas have a choice of near, far and medium infra red light. all three are good for different things.

I bought mine in Lockdown during Covid because the sauna was the thing I missed most about not being allowed to go the going to the gym. The price also helped because I bought it at half the normal cost. Having said that, I've noticed that this sauna seems to regularly be on sale at Bank Holiday times although only for a few days. The only thing I do not like about my sauna is the process of switching it on. It has buttons like a microwave and I'm not very good with any gadget operation. There is a video on tube which I sometimes have to watch to remind myself how to switch it on.

I also have a Rojo Refine full body size infra red panel which I bought to help with my most recent fractures. It has smart modes which are preset with the optimum mix of different infra red intensities to help with different issues. The setting I use at the moment is Bone and Joint. Some of the other settings are Collagen repair, Inflammation, Fat Loss, Skin Repair, Wound Heal, Nerve, Sleep and Muscle Recovery. There's even a setting for pets.

For people who have knowledge of how to use gadgets and which red light mix is good for what, it can also be used manually. Telephone support came with my unit. Having said that, I've only rang the number once to help me decide if I'd chosen the right unit for me, because there are so many to choose from. There was another model which stronger light for bone health although it was not so easy to use. Even I can use this unit with ease. Has it helped? Most definitely. Near infra red does something different to far infra red. This unit and my sauna are helping me big time and I do not use them every day. I no longer take pain killers. The only thing I'd say about these units is that they don't give out heat any more than light bulbs would.

Alex Fergus is a guy on You Tube who reviews and compares almost every infra red unit there is and he regularly updates as new units come out. He is good and totally unbiased. His videos helped me choose my unit. Also with some models if you say his name, both you and he benefit with a bonus. Can't remember now how much discount I had but it was worth having.

Hope some of this is helpful. I'd be interested to hear how people are finding the smaller different types of units.

Di Do or Deanna can't remember which name I use on here.

I have used it on my self, horses, dogs, humans for nearly 20 years. It always helps. I think a belt is the most useful for starters. I have that as well as others but seem to use the belt the most. I don't have a rigid panel or lamp, because not sure why I would want either one.
