Has anyone taken Fosamax after Forteo with good results instead of going on Prolia? Also, has anyone taken Prolia and not have side effects? all we hear are the horror stories, there must be some good stories. Is it because people who are doing well don’t go on the website?
AFTER FORTEO: Has anyone taken Fosamax... - Osteoporosis Support
AFTER FORTEO
I took Fosomax for a long time prior to shots with Prolia & then infusions with Prolia. I had no side effects at all with Prolia except some bone growth in the jaw.
Hi, Can you tell me what you mean by bone growth in the jaw? I also have not had side effects from Prolia. Although I have had to postpone my next shot for 4 weeks to allow more healing at the extraction site.
had some bone growth out of the jaw inside my mouth and had to have some oral surgery. It wasn't a huge deal and I had been told of these kinds of dental issues. Hasn't happpened in a long time. I wouldn't be afraid of taking it again.
my Mum had dental surgery on the day that a prolia dose was scheduled, so had the tooth extraction, and then the prolia dose 3 weeks later. it's said that a month delay between doses is ok,
but from what i've read, a delay is not good.
it may be better to have a dental procedure at the 5th month, and then keep to the schedule with a dose 1 month later.
because in the product info sheet for prolia, at 6 months there's no detectable level of prolia in 53% of trial participants,
so i don't know when that level dropped off to zero.
I am going to start Prolia at the end of the month. I have six friends from my church and all six have been on Prolia for years with no side effects at all. They have had positive v results and no broken bones.
I’ve been on Prolia since July 2019. I have not had any problems at all. My scores have improved but I am still in the osteoporosis range.
I had an aunt who was on Fosomax since she was 50 and lived past 90. She never had a fracture,
I will be starting my 7th year on Prolia. I have not had any side effects and my reports have been positive.
I was on Prolia for 7 years, but discontinued because my cholesterol levels increased, and was prescribed a statin. I also had chronic gut issues and bone/muscle aches. Under supervision of my doctor, I am currently on Fosomax, because I needed to use a relay drug after stopping Prolia.. You can’t just stop Prolia because of its rebound effect, which increases the risk of fracture. It is too early to tell if Fosomax is working to maintain my bone density.
