Had Gastroscopy today , having received all previous blood tests tumour markers liver and bile ducts specific etc returned as normal so good news there.

diagnosis :-

Oesophagus :hiatus hernia sliding of length 3cm

Stomach : Gastritis

Duodenum : Normal

Possible tongue of Barrett’s seen so 1 biopsy taken to exclude Barrett’s Mild antral gastritis ( not sure what that term means? )

Medication: continue medication

So all in all I think it’s reassuring. I have actually been cutting back a little on the Esomeprazole and found at 20 mg first thing am doing ok although nurse at Endoscopy did mention Panteprozole ? Not sure if I got that right .

So what is the difference please with this or use of H2 blockers , also mentioned?

would be grateful to hear any comments or experiences on this

Overall I think just having had the procedure done and ruled out anything very sinister with blood tests etc has helped ☺️

As always much appreciated
