Hi any one I’m in severe bits as I write

I had h pylori sept eradicated triple Med one was ppi omeprazole

Got worse since hospitalised was out on again a ppi different one after endoscopy revealed gastritis no ulcer non erosive

So I still went down hill it’s now jan I’m still nauseau nights but now day to

Extream

Heaving ,

I followed the 5 small bland food diet

No irritants

I do not smoke or drink

I for now lady sept have not slept through At all I’m drained

It’s that nausea

A chewy raw discomfort crntre abdo area

Jyst got back from hospital tonight

Due to Covid not a lot being done

Was given prescription again for ppi Med again

Even though all the other ppi meds have worsened me

I asked about low acid ?

But he said it’s high acid

And because I’m not on meds this is why I’m worse

I can’t cope any more with this

Wish they never treated or found h py as I was not like this prior

I was slightly sicky burps

But niw

Burps

Nausea extream

Raw tender ab upper

General belly discomfort

No sleep

Inflammation neck area plus ear ringing

I have now lost 2 stone and scared as the weight has fallen off me

I thought non erosive would be easy to cure

But I think I’m chronic

And not sure how long that hpylori was there

Prob years

I’ve other inflammation going on like now in my neck joint and ear ringing to

Reading ppi reviews etc can’t win

Said to be effective but seems each one you have ate bad

Tired fed up depressed exhausted I can’t take to much more

Seems now to be worse on food

Had natural food pribiotuc etc

Any thoughts help

Hi there, I was diagnosed with gastritis in September. Honestly I have had all of those symptoms and still do to some extent but it’s more manageable if I stay away from trigger foods. Omezaprazole was no good for me and I generally felt unwell on it. I also notice it’s worse when stressed. I wish I had more answers but I understand how you feel. Once I started to learn more about the condition and trust that the symptoms I experienced were related to this and not something else I became less anxious and depressed about it.

Monsie is right, any food can be a trigger even when bland. It’s how your body reacts to it that’s important. So take each food separate and wait to see what happens if nothing after 30 mins then give a thumbs up, u now have something your gut will tolerate. At my worst I had only 3 foods I could eat, pear, banana and ? Boiled new potato without the skin. That was so for 3-4 mths.

U have lost a great deal of weight. Suggest u try slippery elm- small amounts at first. It coats the gut. Try taking it at night so u get some sleep.

I initially had to use this with a small amount of edible carbon before my gut would settle.

I assume u have stopped eating any yeast. This is sometimes called hydrolysed vegetable protein. Avoid it like the plague.

There is a lot u can do to calm the situation down, but answers don’t come quickly.

Hi monsie was the doctor concerned about the gastritis. Mine said mine was mild and no bacteria causing it and I can’t stand the PPi either. Is it basically a benign condition?

I assume u have cut out all sugars, even honey. Make sure any ppi doesn’t have sugar.

U may find goats milk helps.

Was put back on ppi Med

200% worse

I dint have sugars

I do not drink or smoke

It’s no pain

I only had mild nauseau at night

Now I have night snd day

And inflammation had increased a lot

My diet now is

Yogurt live

Cham tea x1 water

Banana

Avacado

Chicken plain

Rice plain

Oats

Semi skim

Dry crackers

Veg mix

Mushroom plain of breaded

Haddock

Boiled potatoes

Baked potatoes

There is no set food that triggered anything

It’s a constant upper an discomfort

But this is cause I’m back on ppi

I only went to Gp to see if any thing els I could do

To speed things up

She said I will never heal without the ppi

So I took again

I’m sorry u are in so much pain- that’s not good.

Make sure your ppi isn’t a capsule with sugar fillers.

Can u tolerate a smaller dose eg 1 tab?

If there is a lot of pain from the gall bladder then it may need to come out. Ask the surgeon to do another ultra sound.

Your diet is too many different things. You also eat mushroom. This is a fungus the same as yeast. Yeast in bread and soups and any mushroom can cause dreadful pain if this is what’s setting it off. It can even cause breathing problems.

If you are trying to boost protein lamb is the least likely to exacerbate symptoms. I don’t know that from personal experience because I’m vegetarian, but a friend tried it and it helped. She cooked minced lamb with diced fennel.

I have no pain Only tender discomfort upper abs

When I stop ppi

That discomfort ceased to zero

Which tells me that the ppi meds worsen things

No foid gives me pain

I was healing and I think it takes a while. I foolish taking ppi again

I’m 200% worse

I now have psin

When there was zero

I eat not past 6 and sleep upright

After 3 hours of foid

I have to persevere with jydt goid and nit these meds

It’s crippling my tumm

It does seem the ppi is causing a problem. Do u take it at night? I ask because u say u eat nothing after 6pm- so are u taking it on an empty stomach?

Ask your GP if u can try omeprazole tablets for a week and see if that’s any better - if she still insists u take ppi.

Perhaps the slippery elm is all u need.

Would it be worth seeing an alternative health or complimentary practitioner?
