Anyone out there who has low stomach acid and has tried betaine hydrochloride or apple cider vinegar? Interested to know how helpful they are or if anyone has any other suggestions.
Low stomach acid: Anyone out there who... - Acid Reflux Support
Low stomach acid
I have been reading about it on facebook groups, have done the bicarb test and yes, it indicates I have low acid - my GP (who is generally very good) says he's never heard of such a thing and to be careful of the internet. I am trying the suggested treatment : heal first with zinc carnosine & DCL liquorice (I'm just 2 weeks in) before trying betaine hcl.PPIs didn't work for me but Gaviscon does, but I try not to take it too often because said fb groups say it is making low acid worse.
Listen listen listen guys... never ever take tums or any anti acid, your killing yourself. No PPI nothing from the doctor. Look... what is the natural PH of a stomach? 1-3!!! Its the most acidic state. You cant get more acid then that. 99.9% of people that have heartburn have low acid. yet we take tums etc, decreasing the acid more and more. YOU NEED MORE ACID, NOT LESS... if you keep taking anti acids, you are gonna get worse and worse and worse. Go to youtube, type in Dr Berg, his full name is Dr Eric Berg, but Dr Berg will bring him up. He got 11 millions of followers, for a reason.. go to his page and type in acid reflux or GERD, he got several videos of it, and it will fix you for good. HCL. Do what he says and you will be fixed and you will be able to eat anything you want again. Get your acid back, and your good to go. Basically, take 3 HCL before a meal.. if it doesnt help, take 4 before next meal, if it still doesnt help, take 5 before next meal, 6 or 7 until you feel that the heartburn is no more... once the heartburn is gone, you wanna keep doing it for a bit, to make sure it wont come back. But go check his videos, it will save your life.
