Hello All, hope everyone has had a good and painfree Easter
Quick question, does anyone have a magic or at least tried and tested method of freeing up a trapped nerve in the shoulder? Preferably one that doesn't involve non-RA friendly acrobatics? Did this 9 days ago, all I did was sweep some snow off the backstep so I could shut the door and pow! one trapped nerve The pain is excruciating and between that and my usual RA pain and stiffness I'm going bonkers...
Seeing Rheumy on Wednesday so reluctant to get pain relief jab before then as I don't want to mask my RA symptoms as I'm having a big enough battle convincing him there's something wrong with me as it is!
Thoroughly fed up with myself now goodness knows how my family put up with me, I'm just one big whinge bag these days.

physio springs to mind x,v long waits in trust , massage?, sit in a jacuzzi, then sauna, steam room xx
I always use a registered physiotherapist. Mine charges £30 but he fixes it in one session usually.
mmm i managed the six/ seven week wait but will bear private ones in mind x
Thanks everyone. Yes I think that physio is the way I am going to have to go with this. Jacuzzi, Sauna and steam room sound good but I have no idea where I'd go for that over here. Probably have to join one of the highly expensive 'health clubs' so I'll maybe have to miss out on that sadly

Hee hee I like your thinking Summer!
Wednesday is very soon JoJo. I so hope you get a diagnosis you need and deserve and get onto treatment. Pain killers shouldn't mask anything for your rheumy apt but maybe avoid anti-inflammatories.
You don't make the Isle of Man sound very alluring from where I'm sitting in Orkney what with virtually non-existent rheumy service and physios in expensive private facilities only! Good luck with Wednesday - please be really firm if he or she seems determined to dismiss you - let us know how you get on. Tilda xxx
Hi Lil. When I have had a trapped nerve a good osteopath has been the best remedy. They should find how and where it is trapped and release it. A good osteo will be quite specific in their treatment rather than a general cover-all sort of remedy. Good luck.
Lilac, Shoulder pendulum exercises were recommended to me as part of instructed physio. I did these with no weights and clockwise and anti to get movement into a stiff seized shoulder. I won't describe as I don't want you to do anything without a physio/doctor's say so but these were simple and pain free exercises for me and worked wonders. Hope you soon feeling better.
