has anybody had an ankle fusion opp that has not worked?

my opp was in november 2011,i have now had my ct scan back and the fusion has not taken at all,it has even made my bone graft i had 15 years ago dissapear.i am now being told i'm on the waiting list again for another opp..i want and need a second opinion but don't know how to get 1.please help any1

Hi,

Thats just such bad luck, ankles have to be the most awkward joints, i broke mine a year ago, and it still hurts, even though its healed.

Regarding second opinions, when i needed one, i went to my gp and asked for recommendations of orthopaedic surgeons at other hospitals , can be out of area, and then she wrote asking for an appointment, the only thing was, it took ages, the only other route is private! Hope you get sorted and take care.

I had ankle fusion in oct 11 see prev blogs by me. My ankle is much more 'stable' but now I have arch pain whitch I did nt have before. I am having metalwork removed ths winter in orðer to MRI and possible help pain.

On balance it is much better and less uncomfortable and I can walk OKish!
