I'm noticing you haven't had any replies to this. Unfortunately or rather fortunately I've not had one either but it sounds painful. Have you had one or considering it? Hopefully someone will come along soon and advise you. Take care

Not personally, but I know a man who has .... will let him know you're asking.
Hi, I had a triple fusion in September '13. The cast came off after 12 weeks. Had a lot of problems with mine as it had been set at a slight angle which put a lot of pressure on the head of the fifth metatarsal bone. I was walking on it in January this year, had lots of swelling though. Had a Cheilectomy of the metatarsal head in April this year which resulted in nerve damage and a fracture! I'm still having problems with mine. I was told it should be fully healed within 18 months. Be prepared for lots of swelling in the first year gradually getting better over that time.
Thank you so much for being honestthis is my thirteenth wk and last wk was told to gradually come off from wearing the boot but i am still having pain and having to use crutches also a lot of swelling as you say i was very flat footed and turned my foot in and i am finding it hard trying to walk with foot out lol i hope you are well
No I haven't had any surgery on my heels or joints as yet, Bigmommy, but my ankles are a nightmare with constant seizing and pain in the Achilles tendons and heel bones/under the calcaneus, when I try move from being inactive, so I fully sympathise that you have had/do have problems Hope someone can provide the info you want and good luck. NK
Thank you bigmommy . I do indeed have that amongst the other RA/OA madness. Seeing my physio and soon an appointment with podiatry. I hope you are soon getting more mobile. With the feet it is never quick with recovery I know. I am flat footed too which has alway made my RA issues worse. Best of luck to you and also to Cattledog with recovery, as you must have had/must be having some very difficult times. xx
Thank you, I will and do let us know your progress too xx
