In praise of Mum.....

My lovely Mum came to stay last night and after a particularly rough week, it was so great to have her comfort, love and understanding. I had a real good cry as I was feeling so rotten and am fed up with this horrible disease. Mum hugged me and let me get rid of all the tears and was just brilliant. Mum is 74 next month and I am 46 but she is my best friend and the best tonic ever.....

Regrettably I have been unable to have any children of my own but in praise of Mums everywhere, you're just great and I don't know what I'd do without mine.

Hello Mags...What a lovely thing to say about your mum you sound as if you have a wonderful relationship. I think it doesn't matter what age you are to your mum you are still their little baby :D. I am a mum of two wonderful girls and I worry that I am going to worry them this this illness as I am newly diagnosed. Big hugs from me xxxxx

Mummy hugs are the best in the world Mags. Your Mum's from the same generation as mine but we don't really do emotions lol. I'm glad this is not the case in my relationship with my own daughter as we enjoy a good cuddle too. Hope you're feeling better today. Your Mum sounds lovely :-)

Hi Mags,

Glad you have your mum, sounds like you have a great relationship.

My parents both died 15 years ago and not a day goes by when I don't think of them. My daughter and I get on really well, sometimes we all need a hug.

Hi Mags just to say how nice it is as a mum myself to read someone praising theirs to the sky. Especially today for me because my mum died suddenly at the age of 73 and it would have been her 76th birthday today so she's much in my thoughts. I miss her still terribly everyday so it's good to know that you are appreciating yours to the full! Tilda xx

Hi Mags glad to see you have your mum both my parents have passed on.

I agree the constant pain gets to you. I find keeping warm and if sore i hold hairdryer to pain to get ease. Its a horrible illness and because we seem to look ok people have no time for us if we say i am sore i keep saying to them i hope you never get RA OA or any other pain. I would not wish it on my worst enemy

Mags im a similar age too 47.. 48 in july aagh.

My mum (70) is a great support such a rock

and was with me when I was at my worst and crying and shaking with pain, we are blessed to have great mums( my mum has bad arthritis in her poor little hands though my consultant says my mums is osteo??!)
