I unfortunately missed the NRAS Tea for 12 tea party to celebrate the Jubilee. The weather was very good, the photo’s of the food looked great. I hear a fun time was had by all. If you are planning on holding a tea party, please contact fundraising on 0845 458 3969 who will be happy to send a Tea for 12 fundraising pack or download one from our website nras.org.uk/teafor12
Fingers crossed for nice weather again this weekend. There is lots going on in the celebrations for the Queens Diamond Jubilee. Living in the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead there are lots of events to choose from. My husband and I (ooh I sounded a little bit royal there) may take our 3 & 1 year old grandchildren to the party on the green.
There has already been some wonderful displays. The pageant which took place at Windsor Castle featured military and equestrian displays. There was also music & dancing from around the world.
There was a parade of more than 2,500 servicemen and women from the armed forces which included a flypast of 78 current & historic aircraft including helicopters. The Red Arrows closed the event.
On June 4th there will be a concert at Buckingham Palace which will feature some big names in the music world. Gary Barlow, Tom Jones, Elton John, Cliff Richard, Alfie Boe and Kylie Minogue to name but a few. The concert will be broadcast on BBC1 and Radio 2.
If you are going to an event or attending a street party I hope you have a lovely time and enjoy this historic event.
