Hello, I thought I’d let you lovely people know that I have since received a copy of a letter my Rheumatologist has sent to my GP. It explains that he stopped my medication due to other investigations ongoing about my symptoms, and, if I suffer any synovitis of peripheral joints to contact Rheumatology and we will look into alternative medications. (I must say it has a much softer tone to the conversation we had). Maybe just maybe he has read my notes from my last admission to hospital.

I have my scan tomorrow morning 8-30 am. Hopefully I will get results back soon.

huzzah! I'm glad the letter was clarifying, but I am sorry you had stress when it wasn't needed.

my consultant retired in between appointments and it seems like the handover could have been smoother; I think it was unexpected in all quarters. the one who retired had been long practicing at a,um, high level, even if he was relatively new to me. having that case load to take on would be a challenge and a half! the second meeting was better than the first.

I hope things improve from here, medically and conversationally.

That's helpful and will make you feel that the consultant does have your best interests at heart. So often it feels as if we are battling through brambles to get at what we need.

I hope the scan gives you some answers.
