Does anyone remember a while ago the recommended new treatment for RA and clean eating that appeared every now and then? If you do try to catch the Cider Vinegar Story on Sky, it’s astonishing how the young woman fooled the world. A sad watch as she clearly had a lot of issues but so many got caught in the hope over facts roller coaster. It’s a fictional story based on the true story.

off Topic cider vinegar

A work colleague, right at the beginning of my journey bought me a book about curing RA by drinking a mug of olive oil a day!
Honestly never mind the RA, what would it do to the bowels? lol. I just thought the programme was interesting as nothing fuels hope more than a good, it worked for me story. Worse thing was proving she was fibbing about the cancer diagnosis as medical records can’t be revealed. It took in so many people, for different reasons. X
Many people make their own choices and are hopeful things may work out. I suspect many of us have tried a great many things (including drugs). There is no magical panacea, but some things work for some and not others. Always good to have a choice and find out for oneself. I'm a firm believer in that. This lady tried something that didn't work. I'm sorry for her.
Hoping everyone has a lovely, pain free day today. 😊
I remember my mum buying a book called Cure Arthritis the Drug Free Way when I was about 14. She tried many diets and alternative therapies for me, but it didn't work. I guess we all try many complementary therapies but for me nothing seemed to work until 2017, when I took the doterra lifelong vitality supplements.
We're all different and respond to many different therapies. Shame apple cider vinegar didnt work for the lady and it doesnt put people off trying different things! 😊 xx
Was that the one written by an ex SRNnurse? (Margaret Mills or Hills?) Someone bought me the book back in the 90s when I had just been diagnosed with RA. Brown rice and lamb I recall she advocated. Brandy and peppermint the least acidic alcoholic drink.
Your right it was Margaret Hills, I read her books. She has a health clinic, She is no longer alive but her family still run the clinic.. I loved her ideas, I tried some of them.
I read on HU that ACV was good bought some but haven’t dared to try it yet due to stomach acid issues , scared tbh in case it makes things worse
After watching this series and I'd add I use ACV in salad dressings that its healing properties are simply lies. Australian TV did a feature on her as a con artist and it's so sad she made so much money from desperate people. Bu why not put a tiny bit in oil for a salad dressing with a bit of garlic, bit of sugar to taste and heat gently. It's lovely on beetroot. I bought a bunch last week and did the James Marin roasting and pickling, trouble was I forgot what they can do to pee. Slightly alarming but I did eat a fair bit. lol xx
As Judge Judy says, "If it doesn't make sense then it's not true."😉
This story has been dramatised by Netflix, I watched Apple Cider Vinegar the movie last week. The real life woman still owes around half a million Australian dollars in fines and is now living a relatively quiet life, so basically she got away with it!
I think we all agree that eating a healthy balanced diet is good for the body…but a cure all…I don’t think so!
thanks for the heads up
Watched it. Excellent show, but so sad how many people she manipulated.
cider vinegar gave the worst diarrhea ever!! x
Cider vinegar completely wrecked my stomach for months a few years back.
Well, I’ve never heard this one! Extraordinary! Cider vinegar, indeed. But it doesn’t surprise me at all. Par for the course, I would say, and how many other patients with incurable and chronic diseases are fooled by all this “quackery?” We seem to be in another age of much the same sort of thing - pseudo science and the wellness industry.
Common sense is not so common is it?
No it definitely isn’t, it always surprises me but I suppose it’s about hope over reality. I find it odd about the testing of energy to identify intolerance. I mean just what! I think a type of organisation has duped people by using the confusion over DNA in hair to say that their machines can identify food intolerance. But I suspect if it’s written then for some it must be true. There was one of the victims on Good Morning yesterday who said she was lucky to be alive and now could not believe she believed the cure.
