I notice from time to time the subject of dry cracked lips. Like anyone who suffers, I’ve tried lots of different products. I stumbled across a recommendation for Bepanthen nappy rash cream. 🙄. I’ll try anything once. It works a treat for me and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone. If you read the reviews, it’s healed a multitude of skin problems not related to nappy rash too. Gave me immediate relief.
I squeezed some into a few tiny cosmetic pots and I have one by the bed, cutlery drawer and handbag so I’m never without. I’ve stopped looking for lip balm now. I finally found “the one”!. If this helps just one person, I hope it’s worth an off topic post.

Bepanthen® contains as active substance dexpanthenol, the alcohol corresponding to pantothenic acid. The ointment contains 50 mg/g dexpanthenol. Other ingredients: Purified water, Lanolin, Liquid Paraffin, White soft Paraffin, Protegin X, Almond Oil, Beeswax, Cetyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol.
Are they sure it is pure lanolin that they are allergic to? Lanolin itself rarely causes an allergic reaction, it is usually other things in the substance that is the problem.
I have been using Lansinoh which is medically pure lanolin since discovering it in my breastfeeding days. It is great for lips and a little goes a long way. My husband made a big thing about being allergic to lanolin, so I waited a few weeks until he had forgotten about it and just grabbed his hand and rubbed some in without saying a word. A couple of hours later I asked how his hand was, and he said fine. He wasn't allergic to lanolin, he had been allergic to something else in his mother's lanolin face cream.
I am also a spinner and I love spinning in the grease in the winter. That is spinning with wool that is straight off the sheep. It leaves the hands lovely and soft! But I draw the line at rubbing wool on my libs and use Lansinoh instead.
