Hi I just injected my Benepali into my tummy. I usually make sure the bubble is at the top of the own before Inject, never been told to but I just do it always.
I forgot to check where the bubble was and injected...now I'm PANICKING!
PLEASE someone tell me it's ok or not ok as the case maybe. Do I need to tell anyone!?

Thank you 3LittleBirds2 for answering so fast. I was in a right panic. I've not felt ill or anything yet 🤞 jab site looks normal. I've just read the needle doesn't go very far in so it should be ok. It didn't bleed so no veins involved either. I can't believe I didn't check it all before I jabbed I usually do. I won't do that again. X
Easily done Haz, and you won’t do it again I’m sure! I was told about the bubble at my Nurse demo but a big thing wasn’t made of it to be honest and I just really check it’s there. Best wishes xx
Inject Sarilumab and I’ve just checked my instruction and it says it’s perfectly normal go see air bubbles, but obviously this is specific to me and my meds but hope it reassures you a bit. Xx
Hi … I understand your concern … if it’s an air bubble that you are concerned about being injected into your skin …. the main problem would be if you’d injected it into an artery or vein
I’d say that’s less likely and another reason why we are advised to inject into fatty areas like the stomach or upper thighs etc
I’m assuming the area looks no different to the usual way you inject but again if you are very concerned and need reassurance /advice from a medical professional I’d say it’s best to contact your rheumatology helpline or GP

You have injected into fatty tissue not a vein so no air bubble in your circulation. Even if you bleed after injecting - all this means is you have nipped a very tiny blood vessel (called a capillary) in the skin on the way to the fatty layer. If injection site is free from heat or swelling (usually an infection) then all is OK.
Picture of subcutaneous injection into fatty tissue under the skin.
Hi I’ve been injecting Methotrexate for 20 years and Benepali for many years but no one has ever mentioned an air bubble. I haven’t had any problems but will check in future. Hope this helps and thank you.
