Has anyone ever had collengen foot filler injected to give you a pad? Do they work?
Fatty pad loss: Has anyone ever had collengen foot... - NRAS
Fatty pad loss
Did your rheumy suggest that procedure? Have you had ultra sound scans on your feet to check if you have neuromas ? Your description does sound as if that might be a possibility.
I know what you mean about feeling the “padding” has gone from the soles of your feet,& I was diagnosed with neuromas.
Do speak to your rheumy before you commit to anything like collogen fillers.
The poster wasn’t asking about how to get a diagnosis, she’s asking if anyone has had a particular treatment. Have you had the treatment? Can you tell her anything about the procedure?
But don’t you think it is important that a diagnosis for a new procedure of using collagen like this..rather ….. than as a cosmetic procedure …..comes from an ethical practitioner?
I’m sure Cheesechurch will look at all treatments she is offered…..& take advice from her usual doctor.
Where is it implied that the procedure isn’t being offered by a fully qualified practitioner? What makes you think it’s a cosmetic procedure? Cheesechurch has stated this procedure is available from a podiatrist. You appear not have read the question properly.
A private podarist told me that the pad on my feet have gone and that there is nothing that can be done but I have found a podiatrist that does this.I just wondered if any one had this procedure and if it worked.
i know what you mean. It can be painful. i work in a sandwich factory and have to stand for six hours on concrete.
I am also interested if anyone has had this. Tired of my chunky shoes
My son has fat pad atrophy. Was diagnosed when he was 16 years old despite having spent most of his childhood on his hands and knees because his feet hurt so much.
I had a frank conversation with the now retired head paediatric physio who said there is an injection, but there are complications and at his age if it went wrong it could increase the problem, so my son just puts up with it, uses a wheelchair when out and about, a stool when he is somewhere where he would have to stand. I have one of those little folding camping stools that I sling over my arm that we take with us. And he is great at just laying down on the floor! As a child some nosey biddy in the supermarket was disgusted but I pointed out that the supermarket floor is far cleaner than the floor at home, as we have a flock of chickens!
So sorry, no, we haven't had the injection, but I thought it might be helpful to understand why my son choose not to.
