Has anyone had to change over from Salazopyrin, because of the discontinued. If so what alternative did you get , and does it do the same thing, thank you.

Mine are just called "Sulphasalazine - Gastro Resistant" - I think that I've had ones from different manufacturers over the years but as long as they're Gastro Resistant I think that they're all much the same? 🤔

I don't think that you need to worry, most of my medications come with different "brand names" but they all seem to work the same.

My rheumatologist always says it is best to stick to the same brand name if you can. If it is discontinued there is nothing you can do. I took the one in a white container with an orange top for decades and it worked for me. I take tablets for high blood pressure and I always seem to get different brands from the pharmacist. They sourse what is available, and I assume the cheapest. I too like to stick to the same brand. Brands are supposed to contain the same active ingredients but you never know what tablets contain or the quality. This is why prescribed meds only are best and not to buy tablets on the internet for whatever purpose. I always feel nervous when buying vitamins ,minerals, probiotics etc. in addition to regular meds from my GP.

I've always had the Phizer brand for 8 years now , no problem in getting them and they are the enteric coated ones.

Thanks for this. I’ve just seen thst Pfizer are discontinuing production from September 2924. Not clear what generic replacement will be offered as they all appear to fr discontinued on the NHS Community Pharmacy website.
