After all these years hubby has passed COVID to me! Contacted GP, they have referred me to respiratory@home still waiting for them to call.
Question is do I keep taking sulfasalazine.? I've called my Rheumy helpline but they've not got back to me and I've looked on here but can't find anything saying yes or no. I took it this morning without thinking but next lot is due at 6pm.
Just past experience please, I realise you can't give medical advice.

Thankyou Helix. I didn't take it tonight as not heard anything yet. Thank you so much for replying. Sometimes you just need confirmation of what you are thinking I think. X
I’ve had positive tests for covid twice now - carried on taking the sulfasalazine and was also given the anti-virals to help combat the covid. Hope you don’t feel too rough with it x
Thank you flaring. I'll keep taking it now then. Not too bad at the mo it was a very faint line but the Dr says I have to take that as positive. Tested again this morning and still a very faint line.
I am on Sufasalazine and was told to stop taking it if I got any kind of infection. If the infection went away within 2 weeks I could restart on same dosage; if infection lasted longer I was to restart on the 'build up' regime.
Hi Haz. It seems people have different messages from their rheumatology departments. Although I haven't had COVID thankfully I did ask the question in case I got it. My rheumatology departments advice was that I could continue to take it because it wasn't an immunasuppresant. But I had to stop my biological injection of Abatacept because that is an immunasuppresant.
Hi Bio. Yes I've stopped my Benepali biologic. It's weird how different Rheumy departments give different advice for the same meds. Luckily...touch wood, I'm ok. Not got symptoms except a bit achy and a headache. Let's hope it stays that way 🙏🤞
