Drink loads of water before, during and after your infusion. You could always look on the Bone Health site in Healthunlocked and as AC suggests look on the ROS website, there is masses of information on there theros.org.uk
I have had three annual infusions no side effects, first one I had to sit for an hour afterwards to make sure I had no side effects the following two they let me go as soon as it was finished, now I take daily tablets (Advil) to keep calcium topped up. I was given the infusions as my stomach didn’t tolerate the weekly medication dissolved in water (sorry can’t remember the name only that you have to be upright for a while after taking it). Hope it goes well for you 👍
I had it about 3 weeks ago. Was advised to drink lots of water as you can get gluey symptoms as a result but I didn’t experience any. Took about an hour and 20 but future ones will take around a 1/2 hour.
I didn't have any side effects at all but the drip was run in slowly at half reaspeed. The only problem is the reluctance of the dentist to do anything more than gentle superficial treatment.
I been having them for a few years now and never had side effects as the other lady says sit back relax and have a nice cup of tea. I get side effects from most things but not this x
I've had 3 or 4, but each time, this drug created a flare up of my colitis. My dexa results stayed steady, no continued decreases. But due to the side effects, I've switched to Prolia, and had the first increased bone density results in 10 years. However, with Prolia, once I've had the maximum treatment, I have to discontinue it. They've found that many people experience spinal fractures after discontinuation of Prolia, unless they go back onto a bisphosphonate medication. I've got a few years to go, so I'm not going to think about it for now....
